Thinking about the definition of the intellectual in our times as well as about her/his work and tasks one should mention the following: An intellectual is a person who's spending a lot of time studying and thinking about unanswerable questions. They are also studying about philosophy and the connection between body and spirit , the afterlife or even the life before the human experience. Intellectuals are often against the power of the government especially when they abuse human rights / the elit and they're always fighting against the dictatorship and the fascism. These individuals are always speaking up against violence , like police brutality freedom and democratic values and war / genocide. They are activists of the human rights and of equality. An intellectual is also an extrovert person who interacts with people from all walks of life. He/she is capable of listening to others and is able to change his/her mind or point of view and acknowledge whenever his/her ideas are obsolete. Intellectualls do not compromise their beliefs in any cost.

An intellectual is a nationalist he loves his country his culture and his people without hating anybody and any culture at the same time. He focuses a lot on the relationship between the people and the state(power) and he advises how his people could act wisely when they feel threatened. He also focuses on the position of his state agitating for decisions that could help his own country
Rosa Luxembourg was one of the most important intellectuals of her time. She was born in Poland part of the Russian empire in 1871 from Jewish parents. She was an atheist despite the importance given to Judaism from Jewish communities in Russia. Despite all stereotypes about women at that time she went to one of the very few universities that allowed women to study. Her life was a life of activism she fought against stereotypes about women of that time she fought for peace and for human rights
One out of the various matters Luxemburg spoke about, was human labor in favor of Capitalism, and even more specifically, about women being allowed to work only in certain fields while receiving a low income. Rosa, as a passionate socialist, did not accept how women often found themselves working in housework, cleaning or as nannies for babies of rich people. She believed that Capitalism took advantage of the workers continuously, in order to expand its' power over the economy. That leads to paying workers way lower than expected and especially women, bringing them to a difficult position of struggling to make ends meet.
Moreover, Rosa believed that capital and non-capitalist environment were anchored. Capitalists need non-capitalists to own any kind of income and working hands ready for employment, in order for them to consume everything they can from socialist organizations, land and peoples' general belongings. If the socialists do not have something to lose, the capital will not continue to grow and therefore will collapse eventually. That is mainly the reason for underpayment of the working women, who often up until now rely on third persons to feed their families. By not paying them as much as they should, the rich lose less money than if it were a man in that same position of cleaning, nursing, babysitting or even housekeeping.
Though, the stereotype which still lives on today as well, at least in some countries, that women are more frequently positioned for these kind of jobs makes it seem like a must for the rich to hire a female worker, as since way back in time women were the ones only occupied with the housework. Women were sometimes, instead of underpaid, not paid at all. Rosa refused to become one of those women and even encouraged them to be more independent by getting educated and working, as she herself did, becoming their living example. She argued for these rights, as well as even showed no anxiety or stress towards men, whereas often being the only woman in the room. Instead, she took matters into her own hands and made people notice her and take her seriously, which, of course, she still achieves to this day.
