Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

This course aims at providing students with knowledge of the Law of the Sea and Shipping Law. This course examines the legal obligations of States arising under the international conventions they have signed and ratified with regard to various issues pertaining to the Law of the Sea and Shipping Law. The course also presents the work and policies of international organizations and their contribution to the monitoring of states’ progress with regard to the implementation of the relevant international conventions. The course also brings to the attention of the students key maritime security topics that are widely challenging governments, the maritime sector and international organisations, such as piracy, climate change, marine pollution, etc.
