Description- Goals

The English language in the third semester of the Departments of Educational and Social Policy and Music Science and Art focuses on the language skills which the students are likely to need during their studies and at their workplace. The areas which are addressed are people in business, labour market skills, targeting the consumer, crisis management, company accountability and business across cultures. 

 

Course evaluation

The course is evaluated through a final exam paper which consists of an unknown text with true-false statements and content questions, vocabulary matching, derivatives, business English theory and fill in the gaps exercise.

The students can also participate in an exemption continuous assessment assignment:

1. writing their CV and cover letter
2. participating in a simulated interview/ presenting some of their competencies based on the STAR method (situation-task-action-result) 
3. giving an oral presentation on different business issues
