(IES229) -  ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΣ ΖΑΡΡΑΣ

Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

This course is organized around two core components:
Theoretical Foundation: A critical exploration of the relationship between Area Studies and International Relations (IR), culminating in an examination of key theories on regional dynamics within IR.
Practical Application: The use of these theoretical frameworks to analyze a series of regional case studies.

The course introduces students to fundamental concepts in IR, Area Studies, and Global IR. In the second section of lectures, it turns to regional analyses, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, East Asia, and South America. Particular attention will be given to inter-regional security dynamics, pivotal powers, and external influences. The course concludes with student term paper presentations and final reflections.
