The module aims to enhance students' ability to comprehend modern topics and applications of Microeconomic theory. It focuses on models' mathematical and diagrammatical representation across various themes, including Uncertainty, Asymmetric Information, Information Technology, Labor Markets, Price Discrimination, Advertising and Product Differentiation, and Research and Development.
In particular, it covers the following areas:
- Uncertainty (Decision-making process of a rational individual under uncertainty)
- Asymmetric information (Adverse selection, moral hazard, principal-agent model)
- Information technology (markets with complementarity, goods with bundling, markets with network externalities)
- Labor Markets (Labor supply model)
- Price Discrimination
- Advertising
- Product differentiation
- Research and Development
The assessment of the module will be conducted through written exams in English. The written exams will occur at the semester's end during the examination period.
Final Examination (100% of the grade):
- Multiple choice questions
- Short answer questions
- Solving of Exercises
